Celebrity Engagement Rings

When Will Smith proposed to Jada Pinkett in 1997, they decided immediately to pick out a ring. Their decision was a pear-shaped diamond that was very large. Jada told People Magazine that Will wanted the ring to be even larger. Jada said that she had to make sure to pick out her own engagement ring because if Will picked it out it would be the size of that (as she pointed at a sugar bowl). Will and Jada were married in Baltimore on New Year""s Eve in 1997.

On November 21, 1999 Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were at a Sting concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The couple amazed the crowd with a beautiful ring and a song. Jennifer displayed the diamond on her left hand while Brad sang “Fill Er Up”. “We’re going to Vegas, we are going to get wed/ so fill’er up son, don’t be staring/ that’s a real diamond she be wearing.” After the unexpected announcement at the concert, the press could only speculate on the engagement, which Brad and Jennifer refused to confirm. But eventually it was proven to be true. Brad had worked for many months on a unique ring design with a jeweler. Brad had admitted that he has a passion for architecture and art. Brad Pitt wanted the ring to be tactile and the stones to be set on different levels. The overall appearance of the ring was in a shape related to the concept of a heart and possessed a symbol of eternity.
