Truly Unique Engagement Rings

In looking for engagement rings, many want to have some unique engagement rings choices available to them. According to a BBC article from June of 2005, a research and bioengineering project is creating unique engagement rings using bone from the gap left in the jaw after wisdom teeth have
been removed. The bone cells are grown and placed within a pseudo-bone structure. Eventually the bone cells replace the structure, or growth skeleton, and, after being mixed with precious metals, become undeniably unique engagement rings, or unique wedding rings for that matter.
As of now, this technique for creating unique engagement rings is not available to the general public. The current process is still in the research stage, with only five couples receiving these unique engagement rings. However, the researchers are hoping to use the creation of unique engagement rings to demonstrate to the public sphere some of the interesting capabilities of bioengineering. By utilizing their process to create unique engagement rings, they are hoping to add an easily identifiable connection between society and scientific discovery. The ultimate goal is not to create an industry for creating unique engagement rings, but to help in bone replacement for cancer treatment.
