Africa Gets Help in Diamond Cutting and Polishing Training

Some may be shocked to find that while Americans are very keen on gold jewelry, especially diamond engagement rings, India actually holds the record for the most gold consumed. They are also the home to where many diamonds are cut and polished. However, it is Africa that contributes 2% of diamonds to the diamond industry, as well as a large contribution in gold. In an effort to have more direct access to the diamonds India cuts and polishes, India has offered to help Africa become more profitable in the diamond industry. India is hoping to help them establish this goal by sending skilled cutters and polishers to Africa to train them in this trade.
