The Golden Globes awards may seem to some to be a glimpse at the hot new designs in not only fashion, but in beautiful jewelry as well. This year yellow gold jewelry was seen on such stars as Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez, the winning for precious metal dunned by the stars at the 45th annual Golden Globes awards was platinum. Compared to any other precious metal, platinum holds gemstones more securely into place and this could be why all the hot stars at the Golden Globes choose this shiny precious metal for their beautiful baubles that featured multiple diamonds and colored gemstones. Although platinum was seen cradling diamonds, even in a jacket dunned by Kathy Hilton that had over 300 diamonds and an estimated cost of $1,000,00, colored gemstones took on the red carped too. Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh was seen wearing a shiny platinum ring and earrings that featured sparkling diamond and blue sapphires. Another place that platinum shined at was in the gift bags that were handed out that the stars that even featured platinum-Guild engraved iPod nanos.
