Your patience has finally paid. He finally got down on one knee, opened up the box, and bam, there it was, the engagement ring you’ve had dreams about your whole life. Looking down now at your engagement ring you realize that your time is torn between showing off your engagement ring and planning for your engagement party and wedding. You probably never realized until now how much time these two events require and also how expensive they can be.
Getting an engagement ring is something that most women dream about for a while; however, once the ring is on the left hand finger there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Many couples have engagement parties to announce their engagement and this is a time that is great to register for not stuff that you will need for your unity together, but for wedding services (i.e. photographer, baker, caterer, DJ, etc.) as well.
Weddings are a very expensive event and because most brides plan on walking down the aisle only once, they want their wedding day to be very special. While it is great to get those gifts that you can around the house, many brides find that they would rather their guests to contribute to their special day via a cash gift. Household items can be accrued down the road, but registering for payments on the wedding venue, the disc jockey, the photographer, etc, will make that special day all that more special because each one of the guests has the opportunity to contribute to making the day bride and groom unite a day to remember.
Wedding registry for payment of wedding services can is something that you can’t exactly register online for, but you can start your own list and have your bridal party and/or family email your guests to inform them of your preference. You should also make the suggestion that they partner up with other guests that way they do not feel obligated to give a certain amount.
Keep in mind that while it may be the preference of the bride and groom to receive cash gifts, they are exactly that…Gifts. They are not required by any means and are given as an extra token of affection from the giver. However, most people, regardless of what is registered for, will give cash in lieu of an item simply because they feel it’s the best way to allow the couple to spend it on whatever they wish without the hassle of returning gifts or making exchanges.
