The significance of wedding rings and engagement rings in the greater scheme of things was more than well proven recently in the well publicized case of Sergeant Brian Dulle who was recently taken down by a miscreant who was trying to run away from the police in a car. The support from the community to the family of Brian Dulle has truly been tremendous. The ring was finally found and returned to the wife of Brian Dulle, Mrs. Abbie Dulle, when she was leaving the cemetery following the burial ritual.

The wedding ring was found by a member of Dayton Diggers, which is a group of metal detector enthusiasts in the region. The member is known as Bill Baecker who has categorically specified that the discovery of the lost wedding band was just plain luck, especially because a lot of debris had already been removed by the authorities.

The finding of the wedding ring is, indeed, partly due to luck because the material that the ring was made up of was tungsten and Bill Baecker had to set his metal detector to ‘all metals’ for him to be successful. According to his interview to the media, it took him some 90 minutes to find the ring that will be much cherished and fondly kept by Mrs. Dulle. Bill Baecker further specified that he got around 50 to 60 false hits before he actually found the wedding band.

His technique search for the wedding band was also inspired by a suggestion from Charles Otis. Charles Otis, according to Baecker, told him that Brian Dulle used to keep his change in his pocket. This nugget of information lead to Baecker deciding to follow a trail of coins that allowed him to find the engagement ring. The wedding ring had been stepped on by various people and was hence embedded in the ground. The wedding ring was hidden in 3 inch grass approximately 20 feet behind a light pole.

Once the wedding ring was found, Bill Baecker immediately contacted the Sherriff’s department headed by Larry Sims. Larry Sims, subsequently, sent a deputy to collect the ring and hand it over to Mrs. Dulle. Mrs. Dulle is known to have kept the ring in a specific jewelry box.

The Dayton Diggers seemed to have taken special interest in the finding of the wedding band which was lost after the accident. Bill Baecker was put up to find the wedding ring in the region by his friend and fellow member of the Dayton Diggers, Charles Otis. Charles Otis had already tried his hand at finding the wedding ring the previous night and failed. It is worth noting that Bill Baecker is a retired hospital financial officer while Charles Otis is a Franklin Mail carrier.

Brian Dulle was unfortunate enough to be run down by a suspect fleeing away from the police in his car. Brian Dulle was trying to deploy stop sticks when he was run down. The suspect’s name is Marcus Anthony Israel, who is charged with murder along with eight other offenses related to the pursuit.
