Chandelier earrings are still hugely popular, however, instead of the layered chandelier, a single drop earring is taking center stage. The drop earring style got its start last year when Angelina Jolie wore her fantastic 115-carat emerald stunners to the Oscars. Since then, other stars have followed suit from Julianne Moore, with another set of emerald drop earrings, and Courtney Cox with her sapphire and diamond drop earrings. Finally, Taylor Swift showed up at the Grammy Awards this year with a set of diamond-studded drop earrings that helped her stand out on the red carpet. That about makes this trend official: Drop earrings are hot.
What Constitutes A Drop Earring
The drop earring is like hanging a pendant from your ear, which is why they’re sometimes referred to as diamond pendant earrings. The shape is most often pear-shaped or tear-dropped, but it can be any shape that drops off the ear in pendant fashion. They either hang directly under the ear lobe or are dropped even further from a single pendant chain.
They Are Show-Stoppers
There really aren’t any timid drop earrings out there, unless you get some where the size is very small. However, the majority of them are large in size, which goes well with the statement necklaces that are being worn today as well. You may not be able to afford the celebrity diamond size jewels that that stars wear, but you can still have a lot of fun by getting some that mimic the same look.
They Go Well With Strapless Gowns
These earrings are so classy and showy, that they don’t really need a necklace to go with them. In fact, they go well with a strapless gown or swept up hairstyles that show off the earring more on a backdrop of natural skin. Some people are even suggesting that pendant drop earrings might even be made into detachable pieces, so that you can use them on a chain around your neck as well as on an earring setting. While those still haven’t arrived on the scene, it would be a great way to add two classy pieces of jewelry to your jewelry chest for the price of one.

The list is definitely outdated, and there’s a few on there that really don’t deserve their positions, but it’s not a bad list. I think you should check out my site if you ever plan on doing an updated list, I strongly feel I have the biggest selection of quality games, definitely enough content on my site to power a new list. Thanks for sharing though, I found two games I hadn’t added yet, I’ll get on that.
