How to Make a Diamond Look Bigger Than its Real Carat Weight The Colorful Beauty of the Aurora Collection
Nov 15

Some things are just adored by everyone: Babies and diamonds. Put the two together and some merchandisers think that’s a winning combination. Why wait for your kid to marry for them to get a diamond ring when they can start off young? Apparently that’s what some people think.

Personalizedpacifiers.com sells a diamond binky (pacifier) for the well heeled, pampered infant. It’s only $17,000 and encrusted with pave diamonds, 278 of them to be exact. The pacifier was given as a gift to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the birth of their daughter, Shiloh. Apparently, it’s not recommended for actual use, but is sold more as a keepsake. It’s intended to be similar to the memorabilia parents collect from their babies like bronzed baby shoes.

Baby diamond jewelry is really not a novelty. There are a number of cultures that pierce the ears of their babies soon after they are born. These babies are often fitted with gold earrings. It wouldn’t be all that unusual to see a baby with gold and diamond earrings, even at a young age.

Baby jewelry isn’t confined to just earrings. There are tiny baby bracelets, rings, and even diamond charms for baby shoes. All of these adornments make great accessories for dressing up your baby, but be careful that they don’t make tempting snacks too. As always, when making a purchase for your child, safety comes first. Keep anything that can be swallowed easily away from your child’s grasp. If it’s a concern for you to even add jewelry or charms to your child’s wardrobe, you can always buy loose diamonds as a keepsake gift for them when they get older and are considering marrying. The parents can hold them until they get older
