Over the years, all types of items have been created with diamonds, some traditional and some not so traditional. The Gitanjali Group acquired the rights to sponsor the Kolkata Tigers. To make a lasting impression and in celebration of such success, a huge event was held in the city whereby the Gitanjali Group unveiled the most amazing thing ever – a cricket ball studded with diamonds. This ball was made specifically for the event by Tesoro.
In addition to the diamond studded cricket ball, this Group also designed an exciting new collection of men’s jewelry under the brand name of Revv by Desire, known formally as The Captain Collection. In fact, at the same event, this line was also introduced to the public.
Keep in mind that cricket in India is like football in America. More than a simple sport, cricket is a way of life, a cult status if you will. At this incredible event, the Chairman for the Gitanjali Group, Gaurav Marya stated that, “Gitanjali Group would like to be at the heart of young India.” With this game being the driving force for India, a magnificent and diverse country, a diamond studded cricket ball would only make sense.
As a way of showing honor and respect to the demi-gods, those that provide people in India with something extraordinary such as blessings and sentiments, the diamond studded cricket ball was the perfect way to accomplish this. By presenting the demi-gods with this ball coupled with the beautiful line of jewelry, it is believed that the spirit of the cricket game and its players are held in the highest esteem. Of course, only the world’s finest gold and diamonds available were used. Every diamond on the cricket ball was made by a master craftsman, which resulted in a shiny ball that is simply unbelievable. Although it is unlikely that there will ever be another creation such as this, the Indian people can be proud and for sure, the demi-gods are pleased.
