It isn’t just the good looks, fabulous clothes and incredible opportunities that all celebrities seem to have that make us crave their lifestyles—it is also their budgets! This is probably the reason that celebrity watchers are so fascinated by celebrity engagements rings. This is a good thing, because how else would we know all about the incredible gems that some celebrities give to their beloved?

While some of the rings would be hard to miss simply because of their sheer carat weight, others are quite impressive for their elegance and perfect diamonds. Take Christina Aguilera for example. While the size of the stone is not enormous by many standards it is currently one of the most copied engagement rings around. It is modeled on the Art Deco jewelry of the 1920s and features a huge nearly flawless round diamond in a very tall bezel setting with four additional channel set diamonds on both sides. It is ornate and yet elegant and seems a perfect match to the complex style that the singer displays.

Of course, if you’re looking strictly for impressive size and high-quality it is fairly hard to beat the engagement ring presented to Camilla Parker Bowles by Prince Charles of England. The whopping eight carat, flawless emerald cut stone is supported by tapering baguette cut diamonds on either side. It is a vintage piece that had been the property of the Queen and was given to the Prince at the time he decided to propose to his long time “gal pal”.

“Picture perfect” sums up both Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and for their engagement, when he proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Cruise presented his beloved with a five carat oval diamond in a stunning rose gold and platinum setting. Their relationship is quite unique and has continued to make headlines and the unusual setting and style of the ring is a perfect match to this famous duo.

Another engagement ring with a diamond of impressive size and quality is the one presented to uber-model Heidi Klum by her then fiancée singer Seal. The ring is an enormous ten carat fancy yellow cushion cut stone surrounded by a slim band of yellow pave diamonds. Unique to a diamond engagement ring, the yellow stone is set in a highly complementary yellow gold and the fashion model is rarely seen without it.

While many celebrity engagements are like a fairy tale, not all have a happy ending and this is the case of the memorable “Bennifer” – or Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. The two never did make it down the aisle, but the ring the actor presented to the wildly talented singer, dancer and actress is legendary. It is said that Affleck dropped over one million dollars on the six carat pink diamond ring with a surrounding of smaller white diamonds on the band, and today it is the most frequently requested “copy” to be made. (Of course the enormous six carat gem that Lopez received from her now-husband Marc Anthony isn’t anything to be ashamed of either!)

Singer and actress Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z did make that trip down the aisle and if Affleck’s offering to Lopez was impressive, Jay-Z’s is mind boggling. He proposed with a flawless eighteen carat diamond set in platinum that is rumored to have cost him over five million dollars.

Ben Affleck did finally get married, and it was to actress Jennifer Garner. For this engagement he chose something a bit less overstated and presented the actress with an “eternity band” of four and half carats worth of diamonds that encircled her ring finger.

Some actresses like to play a part in the making of their own engagement rings and that is exactly what “Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl decided to do. Her three carat pear shaped diamond is surrounded by smaller pave diamonds and half of the platinum band is from her mother’s own engagement ring.

Two other stars of the hit television drama were also engaged around the same time as well and Ellen Pompeo receive an impressive three and half carat emerald cut diamond set in a platinum band, while Kate Walsh was given a historic diamond from the private collection of her future husband. Her stone was an impressive four-plus carats and is in the antique jubilee cut.

Finally, the mother of all celebrity engagement rings (at least within the past few years, because no one tops any of Elizabeth Taylor’s rings!) is Mariah Carey’s. Not only is it an impressive seventeen carat light pink emerald cut beauty, also surrounded by an additional fifty-eight pink diamonds and two half moon diamonds on either side. The platinum set sparkler was also the source of major headlines when it appeared that the presenter of the ring, actor Nick Cannon, had recycled the gem from a previous engagement! Reports on this blunder were quickly corrected and it was determined that he had only recently dropped over two million dollars for the brand new ring.
