Although most people are well aware of the beautiful diamond collection belonging to Elizabeth Taylor, most have no idea to the degree of the collection. Of course, one of the famous diamonds is a 33.19 carat, Asscher cut Krupp diamond that was presented to her by Richard Burton back in 1968. Originally, this particular diamond was a part of the Vera Krupp estate but it was purchased by Burton and given to his only true love, Elizabeth Taylor. Interestingly, Elizabeth Taylor wears this ring proudly still today. At the time, Burton paid a low price for the stone but today, its value is incredible. However, the most incredible of all diamonds is the one known as the Taylor-Burton diamond. This 69.42 carat, pear-shaped diamond was created from a solid diamond stone weighing more than 240 carats. The diamond was found in 1966 in the Premier Mind, which was then purchased by Harry Winston. For six months, this huge stone was examined to determine the best place to cleave it. With surmounting nervousness, the diamond was finally cleaved, yielding some of the most incredible diamond pieces, to include the Taylor-Burton diamond.
This diamond was originally sold to a woman named Harriet Annenberg Ames who lived in London and was the sister of the American Ambassador. However, after owning the diamond for two years, she finally sent it to New York for auction. Then in the fall of 1969, the diamond went up for auction, with many interested parties, include Elizabeth Taylor. The bidding started at just $200,000, with bidders jumping at the chance to buy.
When the bidding stopped at just over $1 million, the rightful owner was Robert Kenmore, quickly renaming the diamond Cartier. At that time, Burton had been outbid. However, determined to get the stone, he began negotiation, eventually buying the diamond from Mr. Kenmore. This magnificent stone was given to Elizabeth Taylor who wore it out in public on 12 November for Prince Grace’s 40th birthday in Monaco.
When Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton divorced, an announcement was made that the now, world famous diamond would go up for sale with the proceeds going to a Botswana hospital. In the summer of 1979, the diamond was purchased from Taylor by a New York jeweler, Henry Lambert, for a whopping $5 million.
Today, the stone has passed hands again to its current owner, Robert Mouawad. Although it seemed sad, the diamond was cut down slightly to 68.09 carats, changing the curved girdle of the stone to one that is straighter. Additionally, the famous Taylor-Burton diamond has a smaller cutlet than before. While worn by Elizabeth Taylor, the stone was the centerpiece for a stunning necklace, one that was surrounded by numerous, small cut pear-shaped diamonds.
Although no one can imagine wearing such a massive diamond, many wealthy people do have impressive stones. For the average person, just having the chance to wear a half or full carat is exciting. The bottom line is that diamonds, whether small or large, are gorgeous, making them both a woman and man’s best friend.

I must say, as substantially as I enjoyed reading what you had to say, I couldnt help but lose interest after a while. Its as if you had a terrific grasp to the subject matter, but you forgot to include your readers. Perhaps you should think about this from more than one angle. Or maybe you shouldnt generalise so substantially. Its better if you think about what others may have to say instead of just going for a gut reaction to the topic. Think about adjusting your personal thought process and giving others who may read this the benefit of the doubt.
