    Start with a Diamond
    Start with Setting
    Dec 13

969631_magicians_hatYou don’t have to present your loved one with a hearts and arrows diamond engagement ring at the top of a pyramid to pull off a magical proposal. If you or a buddy have a bit of magical skills, you can create an atmosphere of fun and surprise, just like one man did at a street magic fair. By enlisting the help of a street magic performer, he set up the proposal so that it at first appeared to be nothing more than a casual ball in a cup trick. After a few tries at spotting whether the ball was in the cup or the magician’s pocket, it seemed the sleight of hand was easier to follow by getting on the knees to spot the trickery. In actuality, it was just the staging for the proposal and once the ring was revealed the proposal took place in public, and the woman accepted.

    The Magic of Love

Love has always been associated with magic as the power of attraction brings two people together to form a family. So, what better way to plan a proposal than by setting up as a magic trick? It lends itself quite well to this art form with the ability to hide an engagement ring in scarves or cups or even to pull it out from behind the woman’s ear. It may not be that hard to learn a few easy tricks to help pull off a magical proposal, but in the event you lack in skills, just hire a real magician.

    The Magical Kingdom

What better way to accentuate the magic of love than to use a magical setting like the castle at Disneyland or some other area associated with magic? There, you will probably be able to find a few actors who have a few magical skills that can help you pull off the magical proposal of a lifetime.

    Magic Shows

Magic shows are a great venue for staging a proposal because the magicians are already setting up an atmosphere of the fantastical. Magic shows are full of beautiful costumes, illusions, and glitter and sparkle. If you can clue them into the fact that you want to propose during the show, you might even be able to get them to use either you or your intended fiancee as a willing participant for the magic show. It may take a bit of coaxing, however, if you’re hoping to get her up on stage and if she doesn’t the gig is up.

    If She Prefers Less Fanfare

You don’t have to go all out that way just to pull off a magical proposal, however, as the street magician proposal shows. You just have to have a flair for the unusual and good timing. If she is the type to prefer less fanfare, you can just learn to pull a few scarves out of a hat and tie a ring on one of them. You can learn just enough tricks to amaze her and then at the end of an intimate dinner, you can show them to her and pull the ring out from behind her ear. There’s nothing that says that magic has to be done with tons of fanfare, so take your intended’s disposition into account when planning the proposal.
