It is amazing to think that something as valuable as a diamond ring can be so easily lost. It is a sad fact that many people lose their valuable rings on a daily basis. Sometimes these rings become loose and fall off during rigorous activities, or even not quite so rigorous ones.
Just recently in Lafayette, IN, a woman lost her ring while baking fudge for an upcoming bake sale. As most people would be, she was quite distraught and searched her home with fervor. Unable to find it with a thorough surface check, she then dumped her garbage on the floor in desperation. Unbeknownst to her, the ring was in the fudge that she just sold.
Down the road, the woman who purchased the fudge dropped them off to a relative to cheer him up, and as he bit into the brownies, he hit the ring. What an interesting surprise! In a last ditch effort, the ring’s owner emailed the buyer and the ring was returned without incident. The lesson learned is to make sure that we secure our rings before baking or doing any activity where our valuables can be lost.
