The JCK show is one of the biggest, must-see events for jewelry retailers that happened at the beginning of June in 2007. The show attracts jeweler designers and big name retailers during its lavish Las Vegas convention. They leave the show with the latest trends in jewelry, new inspiration, and with donations to their favorite charities. As retailers in the business they will see some of the newest ideas in diamond engagement rings, jewelry, and loose diamonds.

This year, the show offered retailers in luxury gift items to showcase some of their products too. There was a great deal of interest in the Cadeaux Luxury Gift Collection at the JCK show as jewelers began to see the potential to expand into this area with their inventories. With more and more diamond jewelry becoming associated with fashion and men’s accessories, this can make a great marriage. Included in the line of luxury gift items were home and tabletop accessories and even eyewear. Approximately 50 luxury brands were represented at the show. That was in addition to the 3,300 jewelry retailers exhibiting at the show.

Diamond engagement rings continue to be very popular items. Diamond engagement rings had a growth rate of 8% in value in 2006, according to information from the JCK convention. This was surpassed by right-hand rings, which grew at a rate of 10 percent. If you think that might be because less people are getting married, guess again. In addition to the 8% growth rate in the classic engagement ring, there was an additional 14% increase in three-stone rings. Thus, the trends appear to favor more diamonds for the newly engaged, not less.
