pave-setting.jpgIt doesn’t matter what you think of each Real Housewife’s true personality, her trustworthiness as a friend, her taste in clothes, or her singing voice. The Housewife series has us glued to the TV, if nothing else just to see what a “real” housewife wears. Not sweats and a scrunchie, that’s for sure. Each of these wildly successful series peek into the lives of real women who lead lives that soap opera writers envy for plot lines. The cheating… the glitz… the ditz… the outrageous drunken arguments… the screaming fits… the tender moments with the kids… we love it all.

Make no mistake; nobody is pretending these Real Housewives are very real, when placed on a scale with the average, regular, real housewives of any American city you care to name. However, we love to see what could be real people living lives of luxury and drama. The movies don’t come close enough.

Kim Zolciak had it and now we want it. The white gold champagne diamond and white diamond ring she flashed on a recent episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta inspired a moment of jealousy and envy in your heart. No matter what you think of Kim’s empty-headed-bleached-blonde-trailer-trash attitude, that diamond ring would look nice on your finger.

Dozens of rich, champagne-colored diamonds surround the center, ringed along both edges by the icy flash of white diamonds. The substantial setting carries the stones with confidence. This combination of stones is truly stunning; perhaps more stunning than Kim herself.

When it comes to diamond rings, two other Atlanta Housewives have Kim beat. Lisa Wu Hartwell’s and Nene Leakes’ diamonds were recently captured at a charity event and they are spectacular. Both women’s rings are gorgeous diamond solitaires with a supporting cast of smaller diamonds.

Of course we can’t leave the new series, Real Housewives of New York City, out of the mix. Though the series is still very new, we got a glimpse into the New York City social scene.

These five glamorous housewives hail from Manhattan, and have their fingers on the pulse of New York City style. Each of the five has a tidy collection of diamond jewels. Since they spend so much time at charity fundraisers, they need a rotating supply.

You could get a fabulous cultured pearl and white diamond ring and earring set inspired by Ramona Singer for an extremely reasonable price. The giant freshwater pearls gleam even more when surrounded by luxurious white diamonds.

Ramona was also recently seen with a fun and colorful matching earring and necklace set featuring 11 carats of pretty diamonds and bubblegum pink, songbird blue, and canary yellow gemstones. Earlier in the season, Ramona wore 1/5 carat yellow diamond and cultured freshwater pearl drop earrings, and cultured pearl and 1/5 carat white diamond stud earrings.

If you prefer Jill Zarin’s taste in jewelry style to Ramona’s, grab a simple Circle of Life pendant crusted with diamond accents. Jill is a socialite and photographer, and her jewelry always sparkles with the fire of diamonds.

A designer-label Gucci “horse bit” gold bracelet graced the arm of Bethenny Frankel, featuring 5.3 carats of white and brown diamonds set in 18 carat gold. Bethenny has more straightforward taste in jewelry than a couple of her counterparts, and really likes the look of gold. She’ll probably be adding a few more diamonds to her jewelry collection after recently signing a nice book deal.

Luann de Lesseps is a Countess, wife of French aristocrat Alexandre Count de Lesseps. Her diamond jewels are a tasteful mix of newly bought and custom designed pieces, along with a few choice family pieces. Her earrings are always to-die-for beautiful.

Those who have been watching the Real Housewives series for awhile remember the touching and not-too-outrageous wedding of Orange County’s Laura Waring to fiancĂ© George Peterson at the end of Season Three.

The wedding dress was designed by co-reality TV star Austin Scarlet of Project Runway. Laura looked like an angel surrounded by bridesmaids in rich green. While the ring was stunning, perhaps even more striking was her gorgeous diamond bracelet, a custom piece designed by Black Starr and Frost. It must have been 2 inches wide and crusted with diamonds all around. Very eye catching.

The outrageous amounts of money spent on diamond engagement rings alone for the Orange County women probably tops $350,000. Even spread out over five women, that’s a pretty nice haul of ice and bling. The Real Housewives of Orange County has lasted into its fourth season, though, so there must be something clicking there besides the arguments, backstabbing, and cattiness.

We love the flashy rings and glitzy diamonds these women wear. Thank goodness we can get quality pieces inspired by the shows’ stars without spending the same money. A quick Internet search gets us close to these Real Housewives’ jewelry styles.
