The New York Daily News reported Friday that the rumors are true, Kill Bill star Uma Thurman is engaged to Arpad “Arki” Busson. Thurman’s representative, Stephen Huvane, confirmed to People.com was indeed engaged. The couple also announced the news themselves in an announcement on page 75 of London’s The Times.
The couple began dating last summer while visiting Milan and their relationship quickly took off from there. Busson is a financier and a multimillionaire of London.
Busson presented Uma with an 8 plus carat stone, according to People, and is surrounded by twenty smaller side stones. This continues the trend of celebrities wearing big fancy rings. The more cynical among us may wonder if celebrities just get engaged for the diamonds. Happily, there are some successful Hollywood marriages out there.
Busson has two children with supermodel Elle McPherson, a relationship that ended in 2005. Thurman had been married twice before, most recently to Ethan Hawk, whom she divorced in 2003 and has a son and daughter with. Thurman was also marred to Gary Oldman, but their marriage ended in 1992. We’ll see if Thurman’s and Busson’s relationship will last.
