Diamond Shapes: A Cut Above Mystery of Black Diamonds Solved
Apr 07

untitled-88.jpgDiamonds have become somewhat more glamorous since the launch of Ivanka Trump’s platinum jewelry line. Ivanka, daughter of Donald Trump and former wife Ivana Trump, certainly learned her lessons well in terms of jewelry and how to expand an empire. The younger Trump has stated that she drew upon the many pieces of jewelry presented to her mother from her father during the years of their marriage as inspiration for her own jewelry line.

The line of jewelry will focus on diamond and platinum necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings. All of the styles are quite simple and classic; however, they each have a decided touch that sets them apart from any other jewelry. A hidden coral circle trademark takes a place of honor on each piece of jewelry to distinguish it as part of the line. The jewelry debuted in New York, followed by Las Vegas, with more locations to come soon in the future.

In many ways her line of diamond and platinum jewelry is meant to evoke the glamour of an older Hollywood. There is certainly nothing old and grandmotherly looking about the jewelry line; however. It is meant to target sophisticated, modern women who love the look of quality jewelry. As such, it is expected to appeal to Ivanka’s own counterparts, women in their mid-twenties, as well as women of her mother’s generation.

Oval shaped diamonds play a premier role in the jewelry line. The jewelry is high-end, with prices projected to run between $75,000 and $300,000 per piece.

Jewelry and jewelry design is certainly not anything new to the daughter of Ivana Trump, who has been known for her love of jewelry for a number of years and has even sold her own jewelry line on the Home Shopping Network.

Ivanka Trump is not the only celebrity to recognize the value in offering a jewelry line; however. For years, consumers have watched the red carpet at the Oscars and other award shows just to see the styles of both clothing and jewelry that celebrities would show off. A number of different jewelry styles have been launched over the years after they were spotted as being favored by celebrities. Pink diamond engagement rings, which soared in popularity following the engagement of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck a number of years ago is just one of many examples.

While many celebrities do not actually own the stunning pieces they wear to award shows and instead borrow it from some of the most well known jewelers in the world for such special occasions, the number of celebrities offering their own jewelry lines is definitely on the increase.

At one time the ‘must have’ on any celebrity’s list was a clothing line or perhaps a perfume; however, today the trend is increasingly focusing on jewelry. It seems that many celebrities have either introduced their own jewelry line or are currently working on a fabulous jewelry line, with diamonds as the centerpiece of their collection.

Brody Jenner has introduced a line of jewelry known as Archangel, featuring such jewelry items as necklaces and rings as well as other items such as lighters and wallet chains.

When she isn’t wowing fans on stage with her tremendous vocal talent, Celine Dion is working on her own jewelry line. The line was introduced in China and is known as HV Love. Diamond engagement rings are just one item in the jewelry line, which also includes accessories and personal jewelry. Each of the diamond rings in the collection features a name that is taken from a musical note, such as Do, Re, Mi, etc. Approximately 200 retail outlets are expected to open by 2010 in China.

Paris Hilton has also spent some time working on her own jewelry line, known as the Bliss collection. The collection was designed to include pieces that were affordable yet beautiful. The items in the collection are comprised of gold as well as stainless steel and, of course, diamonds. Prices begin around $60 and go up to $3,000.

While she may no longer be the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson has inspired many in the last few years with an unerring sense of style and grace. In addition to her many other pursuits, including a number of children’s books, the former Duchess of York has also established the Sarah Ferguson Signature Collection. The collection primarily uses 14ct and 18ct yellow and white gold pieces.

Diamonds have always been a girl’s best friend and judging by the number of celebrities who are featuring the precious stones in their own jewelry lines, diamonds are not about to fall out of popularity anytime soon. Consumers who want to know which diamond jewelry designs will be the next hot item on the market need only look to the red carpet for guidance and inspiration.
