3120170795_f792f57315Fashion styles for spring are showing skirts that are tight at the waist and flowing to the ground or cropped at the thigh. This can be a problem for people slumbering out of winter hibernation, as a skirt that is tight at the waist draws attention to it. Those in real heavy winter climates have the luxury of hiding a few extra pounds under the coats, but that doesn’t mean the warmer weather isn’t right around the corner. Take a tip from the Southern states, and anticipate the need to be clever with fashion and accessories to make you feel slimmer and sexier. In the winter, down South, for instance, coats are worn with few buttons and rarely if ever buttoned to the top. This not only helps to produce a less bulky feel, but it also flaunts a little color in the drab scenery, by drawing the eye towards the sparkle from fashion jewelry design that can include a nice diamond or other colored gemstone.

    Traditional Flavor, Untraditional Shape

In the past, the diamond princess cut solitaire was the jewelry of choice for those about to take the big step. Now you’re more likely to see some nods to more vintage shapes that are more rectangular, and even great enthusiasm for the pear-shaped diamond ring. You do have to be careful not to pick a shape or size that makes your fingers look fat and stubby. When choosing how to pair your diamonds with your wardrobe, it takes a little attention to both how you wear your clothing, your body type, and also what to draw attention to, and what to avoid that can make you look fat.

    Paying Attention to Fashion

If you’d like to draw attention away from certain things, or bring more attention to other areas it’s quite simple. When pulling attention away from the waist wear longer tops that drape nicely over the bottom and a pant or skirt that compliments your shape. Add jewelry highlights that move the eye away from bulky areas. Avoid styles that bunch when you sit also. When drawing attention to the hips and waist after a winter workout, to accentuate this part of your body more, you can use jewelry in the form of a chain wrap with some jewels, or a belted sash. In fact, anywhere you want a little more attention you can add a bit of jewelry to draw the eye.

When You No Longer Have Time To Diet

There are definitely ways to get those few inches off your frame without dieting when you need to pull off that dress for a special occasion. If you’re on the beach for a winter vacation in Mexico, and those pounds are still there, just add some playful bracelets and anklets to your outfit to draw the eye away from the waist and onto slimmer areas. This way you can still wear flowing skirts that are tight at the waist without drawing too much attention there. Be creative and clever. No one is going to imagine that the shell jewelry dangling from your anklet isn’t just there because it’s pretty. It’s also there because you’re drawing attention away from waist to sexier places on the body, until you have time to diet properly.

Everyone has probably heard the song “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”, as it is one of America’s most beloved songs and the quintessential song about the beauty of diamonds. Without publishing the lyrics word for word, let’s just consider the essence of what the song states.

Apparently, the French Romantics of old (probably a reference to Napoleon, a famous ring-giver himself) were prepared to die for their love. However, the woman in this song prefers a living man who buys expensive jewels. Good point there, as brave dead men really don’t give good gifts. She goes on to express that various romantic gestures (such as a kiss) are limited in value, and that they cannot pay the rental in the end. A diamond ring could theoretically be resold if worse came to worse. This is a smart thinking material girl! Finally, she expresses that all men grow cold while girls grow old. The only thing for sure in life? That a diamond stays beautiful and romantic forever! Continue reading »

jewelrygift.jpgWhile there is a wide array of different precious stones to choose from, women just seem to prefer diamonds when they receive jewelry. Whether the jewelry is to mark a special time in life, such as a marriage, or just to make a fashion statement, diamonds have remained popular throughout the years. Although the left hand has been the most popular place to wear diamond jewelry for many years now, it certainly seems as though the right hand is about to catch up. As more and more women postpone marriage in favor of establishing their careers or traveling, the wait for an engagement ring has certainly lengthened. Continue reading »

We love our pets. Statistics indicate that roughly eighty percent of pet owners consider the animals in their home and on their property as members of their families, and more than sixty percent of them purchase gifts for their pets on a regular basis.

The wide number of luxury and attentive boarding facilities, mobile groomers and gourmet pet food manufacturers shows that we like to treat our “furry family members” just as nicely as we do our human family as well. Continue reading »

Other celebrities that have been spotted sporting such belly rings include Kelly Clarkson and Jessica Alba as well as Beyonce Knowles. Continue reading »

untitled-3.jpgThe year is still in its first quarter, but already the trends to be set for 2009 are clear. Where in recent years extravagant jewelry and platinum encrusted pieces have risen in popularity, recent economic difficulty has turned people back towards a more simple and elegant look. Chunky diamonds and outlandishly large necklaces are no longer the pinnacle of high fashion, and both celebrities and fashionable people are remembering the beauty that comes with a sensible set of accessories. Most parents hope to impart good and strong values in their children, so it may seem odd to see that many teenagers are the recipients of expensive and high priced items such as diamonds and electronics. Presenting a teenager with a costly object is not necessarily making them materialistic. It can be a good way of teaching them to be responsible for their possessions. Continue reading »
