    Start with a Diamond
    Start with Setting

Engagement rings are the most personal gift you could ever give, and with so much riding on the one little ring, picking the right one is an important task. There is much to know about engagement rings and setting is at the top of the list. The engagement ring setting is reference to the look of the ring, how many diamonds are grouped together and how they are held onto the actual ring.

question_ring.jpgThe setting of engagement rings should be designed with the woman’s taste at heart. The ring should be in whichever color gold she prefers and include one or several diamonds. The way the diamond is held on to the ring is called the setting. The prongs holding the diamond is one type of setting you may choose from. The diamond is usually solitaire when set with a prong, but some in some instances the ring can have a few diamonds. The prong holds the sides of the diamonds only so the stone can actually sit at different heights from the hand. The shorter the prong, the closer to the hand, and the taller the prong the stone will sit further from the hand.

There are plenty of settings to choose from, the prong is only one. The best way to choose is to look at rings with your girlfriend. She will help you choose which ones fit her taste and which ones do not. When you know what she likes it makes the decision much easier and more fun to make.
