    Start with a Diamond

diamond-ring.jpgThe rising crime rates across the nation are a direct reflection of the dire economic straights in the US. Diamonds are being stolen from people off the street as well as out of homes and jewelry stores at an alarming rate.

Diamonds have been desirable to humans because of their beauty and functionality for countless generations. They have been stolen ever since they have been coveted. Beauty is no longer the only reason we covet these precious stones. Over time we realized that diamonds were the hardest of all gems and that we could use them to cut others. We also began to use them to advance technology.

    Reasons for Thievery

Now we are losing them to petty thieves, cat burglars and losing our money to scam sellers of fake jewels. This reflects the decline of society into a recession. If a man can buy his girl a diamond he would prefer that. If he can’t feed his children he has little concern for the sentimental value of your stone as you are being held up in a dark parking lot.

The diamond market has grown riskier in the poor economic climate because of the huge fluctuation in the Foreign Exchange currency market. Until the currency is stabilized we will continue to feel the pain of those who don’t have enough money to pay for their debts.

    From Attainable to Desirable

Diamonds during the last few decades grew so affordable that the common man felt like he was as entitled to hand his fiancĂ© a huge rock, just like the rock star he saw on a reality TV show. Now that the economy has collapsed that same man can’t make his car payment. If the average hard working man is suffering so, imagine the lengths that the dredges of society like drug addicts would be willing to go to get their fix.

Every girl likes to show off her diamonds. Some gentlemen may even have a favorite diamond piece that they are quietly fond of as well. Right now it is wise to wear those jewels only in a safe environment. It is unwise to wear a $200,000 necklace into a convenience mart on an unfamiliar interstate exit just to satisfy your chocolate craving. Use common sense to avoid losing your precious stones. The same jewels that you wear to that fancy party should be safely secured in a deposit box while you jog or do errands. It is simply not wise to flaunt your diamonds everywhere during these turbulent times. That doesn’t mean you can’t own them, wear them or buy them. It just means you need to be prudent when you choose the occasion to display your glittering diamonds.

The economy appears to be on the rebound, and with a new administration in Washington it is now projected that the economy will begin to raise from the ashes of this disaster. A full recovery will not happen overnight but the value of your diamond in the long run will only go up.

    A Great Time to Buy

If you have the money to buy into the market or to buy precious diamonds as an investment the rock bottom prices of today would be a great time to invest. Just don’t carry them with you through Central Park at night! Currently there are many people selling their jewels through local pawn shops and online resellers that you can find a great deal. Just make sure it isn’t a steal, literally. Make sure the stones are real and make sure that they weren’t stolen before you buy them.

Shopping for diamonds is an exciting adventure. This holiday season you are sure to catch many great sales as retailers slash prices to try to get more buyers. This is a great time to invest in that special engagement ring purchase that you know is inevitable. If you have an anniversary coming up then you will not find a better time to buy that anniversary band or pendant than now while the prices are so low.

As you flit about the mall from store to store in excitement this Christmas and trounce around town to the higher end stores be very careful and aware of your surroundings. It is advised that you park in a highly visible area as close to the door as possible or directly under a light to reduce risks. Don’t hesitate to ask a store salesperson to watch you walk to your car once you have purchased your precious diamond. They will be glad to accommodate a diamond buying customer.

The diamond disaster like the economic collapse is only a temporary bump in the road. Humanity rallies to repair our financial institutions as you read this article. We are also working to alleviate the suffering at the core of the recent rash of thievery. The future is going to be a brighter place because of all of the lessons we have learned. The future shines as brightly as your favorite diamond!
