While selecting diamonds the most important parameter to be considered is the 4 C's i.e color,cut ,clarity,carat. However many of us get confused between shape and cut. Along with the 4 C's it is important to consider the shape as well because that will give the desired look to the diamond.

The ‘cut’ basically refers to how well the loose diamond has been cut whereas shape is the three dimensional look of the diamond after its complete finishing. It is the geometrical shape of the loose diamond after it has been cut and polished. The cut also influences the pricing of the diamond whereas the shape is an individual choice. Hence both are important but equally distinct.
