The princess cut is a popular shape when it comes to diamonds. It is relatively new as compared to the round cut and is fast becoming popular as an engagement ring setting. The princess cut has uncut corners and is rectangular in shape.

It is less expensive as compared to the traditional round cut as not much effort is required in chipping it as in case of a perfect round cut shape. Also, a princess cut diamond looks wonderful when set into a pendant. It is available in elongated shapes along with the regular rectangular version.
