You hear a lot about sacrifices moms make. My mother is the world to me and my sister, just like I'm sure all mothers are to their children. We were raised by her and suffered through the divorced children syndrome, but you would never know it. She insured that she never brought us into any of their arguments, even to the point of not draining him dry with child support as he could not afford much. She worked and had a cleaning business on the side, which we helped out with and gave us extra money. She was a cop, and changed locations to be closer to home. She worked her way to be Chief of Police in the small town we lived in and began a youth group, that we became a part of. She actively had the teen club running for the area kids and even invited the more delinquent teens to join, and many of them today, return to thank her for her efforts and assistance. She communicated with us throughout our growing years, on levels that we understood and was always honest with us. She gave us those old time values. This helped insure that we stayed away from drugs and grew up pretty good. She could not afford college for us, but pushed us to get jobs to pay for it ourselves and assisted with applying for scholarships. Today my sister and I both have degrees and pretty good jobs. Both of us are married, and my mom has 3 grandkids. She is funny and raised us surrounded in humor, which gave us a good outlook on life. She is remarried to a wonderful guy for 17 years now. During her life she had a miscarriage, breast cancer (her sister died of breast cancer) and early hysterectomy. She still struggles and sacrifices as our step dad became disabled and she still works and supports them. Through all of this, she has always had a great outlook, very positive, always happy and smiling. She bought my wedding ring and my husbands as we could not afford it and she found a deal from one of her overtime jobs as security in a jewelry store and made a deal and worked for the price. I would like to give her the Sapphire and Diamond Vintage Engagement Ring (Stock Number: ENG-SS-18-2354) with accompanying diamond (the nicest one, I don't know much about those things, so I will leave it to you experts). She has always loved the antique style and is a lover of silver. My mom is also a true believer in Santa Claus, yes still!!!!! I would love to give this to her in a stocking delivered from the North Pole, and she believes its Christmas all year long (yes she does, you can tell, her tree is up all year long!!!!) It would mean a great deal to give something to her to show how much she affected so many lives in a very positive way, not just her own kids, but many many others.
